Sunday 11th May 2025

We are thrilled to share some truly wonderful news with you all.

On Sunday 11th May 2025, Jayne Hughes, the dedicated and compassionate Founder of Amy and Friends, was formally awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in recognition of her outstanding services to children, young people, and families affected by rare DNA disorders.

This honour reflects Jayne’s unwavering commitment, tireless advocacy, and the deep care she has shown since founding the charity. Over the years, her work has touched the lives of countless families across the UK and around the world, offering hope, support, and a sense of belonging to those navigating incredibly challenging journeys.

Receiving the BEM is a proud and emotional moment not just for Jayne, but for everyone involved in Amy and Friends — our families, volunteers, trustees, ambassadors, and supporters. This recognition belongs to all of you who have stood with us in our mission to ensure no child or family walks alone.

Please join us in celebrating Jayne’s incredible achievement — a true day to remember.
