Our 2023 conference was a huge success, here are a few pictures

Following on from our event, we have collected feedback from both our families and volunteers, please take some time out to read how much support our children and families receive and how much the conference means to them and their families.
- We had the most wonderful experience we have ever had as a family we felt so so welcome
- Absolutely amazing as always. We can not thank you enough. From the volunteers, the specialists, the talks, the hard work everyone puts in, the entertainment to the food and of course seeing the families All just wonderful! Thank you all!
- There are no words to describe how wonderful the weekend was. Everyone went above and beyond
- An incredibly well- organised , creative , caring weekend. Volunteers could not have been more helpful , they worked non stop . The creative activities were really imaginative right til the end with the cake decorating . It was very nice they had memory-making jars activity , might be a good suggestion to name that on the itinerary so bereaved families know there’s a memory craft table if they want it. Loved the fact the hotel had lots of different areas to sit , outside and inside . Pools were amazing . Doctors took the time and trouble with everyone to answer questions even when not “ on duty” Bereavement group could be a bit longer lots of potential to share and support each other , to have time out from the main group to take a breather Thank you so much!!
- Amazing time had by all of us thank you so much. We didn’t want to leave
We asked our families how they had benefited from attending our conference, here are just a few of their replies.
- Made new connections with other families. Learnt new info from medical bit, all very interesting. It’s a reaffirming experience, when we have low points, the AAF conference boosts us once again, like a family reunion, reminding us of what’s important and that we are part an amazing family, ❤️ it can be a lonely experience this life so, these weekends are so important. Thank you for everything ❤️❤️❤️
- The love, support, understanding and inclusivity is second to none. I wish we could do it once a month instead of once a year.
- We are finally seeing a dentist after only seeing 1 in 4 years I have gone away with info for neurology and have come away with not new friends but a whole new family it’s the best experience I have had I’m my life 💜. My son has made so many friends because of the siblings have so much in common and with all the other children who he loved so much. We all haven’t stopped talking about it.
- Oh my gosh-how to put it into words. To meet with my AAF family, connect with new families, see specialists and gain knowledge, kids to play with no judgement, siblings to form lifelong bonds, to celebrate and to grieve…..priceless. It’s a lonely road and I would be lost without all that conference and AAF provides
- We have made new friendships, got wonderful information and advice and feel we are no longer alone.
Our 2024 conference is being held on 24th – 26th October, the registration is now open.
